255/35/18 widest rear tire size that fits on OEM Staggered Wheel?

I have a 335i with sport pkg/susp.

Current sizes are:
F 18x8, 225/40/18
R 18x8.5, 255/35/18

I would like to go a bit wider on both the front and rear say 235/40/18 and 265/30/18. But although I have heard of people using these sizes on the oem wheels, tirerack shows 255 as the widest that will fit on an 8.5 wide wheel.

So whats the story??

I'm lookin into this as well. I know a few people on here that went up to 235/265 with no problems on the SP 189's....

WalkedU - I've actually got another window open looking at those exact Nitto's....What do you think of them? I'm seeing a lot of people are having problems losing pressure, sometimes overnight, just from temperature changes....

Ive never had any problems with my nittos when I had them on my car.

I drove about 12k miles on them with no problem at all.
