Non-Dealer oil change? ****NEED ADVICE***

Hello Everyone...........

Can anyone recommend a non-dealer oil change for me? My warranty/maintenance is expired and I'm due for an oil change. I called Park Ave BMW and they quoted me $145.

What are the alternatives?

Thanks!!!

order the oil and filter from getbmwparts. then either do it yourself or bring it somewhere like valvoline or mavis to get it changed

Change it yourself - not much more difficult than any other car.

+1 - You can get a K&N Filter and Castrol Synthetic at any auto parts store for around $50.

I get mine from Advanced Auto.

I use mobil 1 5W 30, and its just as good, if not better than the castrol the stealership put in for the scheduled oil changes

If you do it yourself for first time, it will cost you around $100~110 which includes oil/filter/oil dumpster/rhino ramp + your labor. (Oil and filter runs around $70)
So if you don't like to work on your car, consider $30~70 for their service charge.

Be careful with that weight of mobil 1, I'm not sure that one is BMW approved.

I know 0w-40 is though.

Matt (itsbrokeagain) can do it for you if you dont have the equipment, just buy the oil/filter and he can do it for you at his shop for a very fair price.
