Matt Black grill or painted surround?
Thinking of getting one of the above....can get black grille with body colour surround or just simply matt black.....This will be for new car (not the blue one!!) which will be black sapphire....
I'm thinking the painted surround would look smooth....but I like the look of the cars I've seen with the matt.....

on Sapphire Black , definately get the matt grilles. I saw a 1 series with the BMW performance gloss ones on, didnt look very good at all imo.

I've gone matt black, but not through choice. The guy I ordered these from off ebay said they were 'gloss shadow finish' which I thought might look good (similar to what you're suggesting with the body-coloured finish) but ebay being what it is, I ended up with matt black....which I think looks good so I didn't send them back

Thanks guys - I like the matt as said earlier...
One of my main reservations was whether the matt would look as good against the black sapphire as it does against contrasting colours....
