Have bought this for £175?

Your views? seems a cheap way of getting back into photography again

I know it isn't going to replace a dslr but for £175 - that's less than I paid for my point and shoot.

Very nice. My brother in law has something similar (panasonic / lumix) and the 18x optical zoom is pretty impressive. To achieve that with an SLR would be pricy!

Seems to do some decent pics and that zoom is massive. I know if I went the DSLR route, I'd end up spending a small fortune on lenses etc.

Received the camera today and so far so good - had a play with RAW and Photoshop - once I figured out what the weird red/green fringes were on one of the photos, I managed to remove my first Chromatic Abberation !!!!!
