I haven't just my opinion, trying to say it not to offend anyone but I think removing the muffler on it would make it sound like a ricer, then again I haven't heard the mod in person yet, so there's still hope!

Reluctant at first...
The muffler shop guy looked at me like I was crazy... I couldn't be more pleased (and surprised) at the end result. It's affordable, and doesn't sound like a fart-can. It has a very distinct sound that is low, mean, but not annoying. I will be pairing this up with a CAI, but I haven't made up my mind yet on which one. I'm partial to aFe as I used that kit in the past and I loved it. -r |

now the big question is if im just driving moderatly, for instance not gettin on it, will it still be pretty quiet cuz i dont wanna wake the neighbors. they used to hate my old car! (2004 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ fully built race motor not turbo running an open header!) LOL

From all the muffler delete in car vids i have seen, at higher rpms there seems to be a howl or greater windnoise. Can anyone confirm this is from the mffler delete mod? Also, how is the drone at 2-3k rpms while cruising?

Had it, Liked it, Got tired of it.
So, went with a catless mid pipe and a Remus quad setup and LOVE it. There is no comparison in sound or performance.

I had the same hesitancy but decided to do it. I LOVE it!! I get SO many compliments on the sound! It just dosen't sound like a car without a muffler. It sounds like a great performance exhaust. It def does NOT sound ricey in any way! Nice deep, deep tone!
You really have to go on faith and go for it. If for some reason you don't like it (very unlikely) you can bail on it and go back to stock very cheaply. It's still only a fraction of the cost of doing a Remus, Dinan etc. Just go for it! You won't be sorry. Become a "Delitist"!!!!

I said this once and everyone started crying and yelling at me. I still maintain that it's ricy and think it sounds like crap, but hey, that's just my opinion. Everyone else can do whatever they want on their car.

i had a remus power sound at 1st... it was almost just as soft as stock unless you really slam on it.
got the muffler delete about 4 weeks later and haven't regretted it since, makes the car sound more like an M3. |
