The CF parts already on my car - Upper Intake Snorkel (is actual BMW part wrapped in CF and cleared) & Lower Intake Snorkel (CF shell/cleared that attaches to factory part w/3M tape) have been on my car for some time now with absolutely no problems.

Only part I'm gonna buy from other CF pics is the CF Euro Lid cover which is also a shell/cleared that attaches with 3M tape. Don't see any reason why it wouldn't hold up just as well and at any rate it is the only mfg. I have found after extensive search that even has the CF Euro Lid available.

The Upper Snorkel was from EAS. Lower from ECS Tuning, and Lid is from Japan

BTW, I have an extra K&N Filter #E-2022 FS that is used in the Euro Intake - if anyone else is doing this mod, or just looking for a replacement for stock filter on a Euro they already have installed...

Guys, what do you think about this combination: Bought "cheap" BMW PERFORMANCE kit from China/e-bay, it looked good on the picture but the parts are junk, not fitting and I had to spent couple hours to make it fit. Because the kit is for Euro Box, (I was planning to buy one, but the magic is gone), I want to use the parts, even not perfect looking. So I was going to buy Injen CAI and leave carbon fiber part there. What is your opinion? For now I just put the oem piece back due to not fitting on the air box. But with Injen it will not matter, because air box will be gone. BTW they sent me half of the money back, so it wasn't that much loss. Few parts unused... But reminder about China crap.

Actually the fitment is perfect and the quality is not bad. But you must have the euro airbox!!!
How did you figure that it will fit your airbox?

I know I have to get Euro air box. I was going to buy it from somebody who installed the CAI. But since it is soooo screwed up, there is missing part for intake close to the winshield, and I'm not even sure if the upper lid will fit to Euro box. The pictures are the lid for Euro and that's it. Well, it is kind of challenge. lol. Hey, Czech? I'm from Hradec Kralove...

The part for the opening at the back of the lid is missing but it doesn’t do much for performance. It’s there probably for the sound. The lid fits the box with no problem.

Thanks. Maybe it would be worthwhile to get the euro air box and do it proper way... I'd have to get it from somebody who installed CAI and doesn't need it anymore. Not many BMW salwage yards here in Calif...

Guess I'm kinda confused as to what you really did with all the different pics - but the GM Performance Upper Snorkel will NOT fit the Euro Airbox lid - the opening on the GM Performance Snorkel is bigger than the standard snorkel - Euro Airbox Lid will only mate up with standard upper snorkel...

I know. It comes with a lid converting BMW PERFORMANCE snorkel to the size of Euro box. I guess last picture shows it, although I cannot try it since I have regular US air box....

I rec'd/installed my euro box & aFe filter today. To my surprise the exhaust does sound louder. I'm pleased with the purchase, as it's hundreds less than the US performance intake & I believe it's actually superior as it has a conical filter...

Christmas came early today. UPS just delivered the EURO box from ECS. I ordered just the box and 7 screws that ECS told me I also needed, not the 'kit' as I bought a K+N filter off ebay for it. I opened the ups box and what I found was the euro box with 7 lid screws, lid, paper air filter, and the MASS AIR meter all attached together and wrapped and the extra 7 screws I ordered.

So do I use my old mass air meter or do I use the new mass air meter included with the box?

The mass air meter alone must be worth $225-300. I'll send back the 7 extra screws to ECS for credit.

Install maybe next week when work gives me a break.

What did they charge you for Euro box alone? No screws, lid, filter? Thanks.

That MAF sensor is expensive - so ya can either keep it as a spare or sell on the forum (or guess you could swap it out for your old one - but if old one is working, they are the same sensor)

You can't buy only the items you describe from ECS. You have to buy Item #1 as per the diagram which includes #2,3,4,5,6,7

The 'kit' he is referring to is the more expensive option where ECS includes a K&N filter to replace the factory paper filter.

Is item 13 the same on North American and European cars?

Too bad you can only buy item 1 (which includes items 2-7), because without the MAF sensor (item 3?) the whole think should be a lot cheaper...assuming the MAF sensor is the same in NA as in EU.
