I don't own a Ferrari, I know that, but I will never in my life let a valet touch my car. If you just knew the things I've seen and experienced on other vehicles including my previous car. Avoid it, especially on a MT. You'll see when you get your car back with a burning smell.

I almost always valet unless I can quickly find a spot, but I have an AT. So far no one has pulled a Ferris Bueller on me yet.

I too fully understand that I'm not driving a 1 of 200 custom ordered exotic, but I don't even entrust my clutch to close friends who I deem merely 'satisfactory' stick drivers, so you can forget some random teenager looking to make some extra cash.

When I had only owned the car for only a few weeks, I once brought it to a full-service car wash...once. (Thanks to car forums, I have since seen the error in my ways and exclusively wash it myself now). Well, when the car comes out of the wash, an attendant hops in and drives it up an incline to the 'vacuuming area'. Well, this jamoke jumps and immediately preceeds to stall the car, violently jerking it forward. Then he starts it back up, revs the tach up and slooooowly lets the clutch out up the incline to the be vacuumed 25 feet away. Now add in the element of you not even being there to watch your car being moved around, and that pretty much seals the deal for me.

If the area is a bit sketch I usually will tip them to keep it up front in view. Most places around here, if they have valet, it's because their parking lot is so limited they need to use every inch of space in order to accommodate all of the patrons to their restaurant.

I have a hard enough time having the dealership drive it. I will always park it myself. Luckily we are not a city like LA where EVERYONE has valet.

My car doesnt get valet'ed... ever! Some piggyback systems have a 'valet' mode, but you can still screw the car up pretty badly if you ride/dump the clutch at, say, 3500rpm..

Around town I don't have to valet - but if I'm going anyplace nice out for the evening it's pretty much automatic that I'll end up having to valet.

In the defense of people who choose to valet over self-park, I've seen my fair share of other self-parkers who have no regard for cars next to them, i.e. poor parking jobs where they open their doors into yours, kids coming out of a mini-van/SUV and hitting/slapping the car next to them, etc. I even saw a guy with a keyring coming off his back belt loop and scratching another car as his fat ass was trying to squeeze between two cars. Most valet's around here are pretty careful with your car too, since they just need to pull it around the corner there isn't any 'space' to WOT.

The scariest thing about valet is when you see them bring your car to you flooring it up the ramp with the door opened!

Ferris Bueller's Day Off.... Ever sen the movie???
I had a guy return my car after coming from dinner with the motor wound out and tires screeching. I never valet.

Here is why I would never valet, esp a MT car.
Think money shift.. Think over rev and the motor doesn't grenade. Then you get an engine issue months later. Dealership claims your car logged an over rev but you claim it never happened. It did, you just didn't do it.

Park yourself and walk.

My friends used to valet in college, most had no idea how to drive a manual but they had to learn for the job ... They did so on the cars they parked. The horror stories I used to hear. Atlanta has a large number of valet only and at the time I had more of a beater.

I have valeted twice since getting the 335. Once was at Fogo de Chao and the other was the Tilted Kilt. Fogo I told the valet I would take care of him if the car came back w/o a scratch and also warned him I can check to see the speed and RPM levels. The Kilt I was late to a lunch meeting and tipped to put it right up front.
