Hi all, is there someone out there who has an 07/08 E90 M Sport with a new to newish B12 kit fitted that wouldn't mind measuring their ride height from the bottom of the wheel rim to the highest point of the wheel arch? My wheels are the M193.

I have had my B12 kit fitted for 1,000 miles now and the ride height is unchanged from the original M Sport suspension. I know the rear is meant to stay the same, but I thought the front was meant to drop about 15 - 20mm?

Have checked the mounting location of the bottom of the front dampers and they're seated as they should be with the pinch tab resting on the knuckle etc. I had wondered if the Indy had accidentally refitted the old bump stops up front which might have had something to do with it, but nope they are in the box with all the old parts.

Any ideas?

B12 comes with Eibach Pro Kit I believe which usually gives 10mm if you are lucky on the front, nothing on the rear.

You want Eibach sportlines.

I can confirm the b12 will yield very similar ride height to sport suspension. You're talking about approx half an inch drop. The reality is that any lower than that and your front camber curve goes backwards (it starts to lose camber on compression). The car will handle best at the sport/eibach height with all other things being equal.

It does indeed. I guess I had expected at least a little drop, but the ride height is identical to the old M Sport suspension. It could be that my old suspension was totally sh*gged out, and had actually dropped in height anyway as it had done 100,000 miles.

Overall I guess I'm happy with the height as it is. The main thing is knowing the dampers are up to the task now, and the springs have had a refresh too. Am now toying with the idea of thicker sway bars to minimise body roll....

The reason for the thin anti roll bars on these cars at the rear in particular is because of the lack of an LSD.

If you increase rigidity then when one wheel begins to lift off around a fast corner the other fill follow suit. If you reduce rigidity (as is standard with a thin anti roll bar) then the other wheel does not follow suit as aggressively.

So whilst fitting a thicker roll bar will make the car feel so much better, on the limit its probably slower.

Unless you get an LSD as well in which case you are laughing!
