The new BMW 1er Coupe and Cabrio will get something similiar which takes the car back to it's 2002 origins. The single light is accomodated by three LED bars at the side of the main unit for increased illumination.

BMW's evolved from single headlights to two.
The design in real life , actually works quite well and gives the car a very unique identity.

I like it. it has an aggressive face -- so much better than all the abominable Bangle BMWs (the worst of which was the 6 series guppy face)

Single lights are part of the BMW style tradition, as are horizontal slats in the frontal grille, or has everybody forgotten all the BM's prior to the E36? Gives it plenty of character.

If it looks anything close to this, and it drives well (for a FWD car ) then it will be a hit.

I think it gives it a hint of a VW look. Not a big fan personally.

The 2002 was not FWD, but a real BMW.
I know . I was mentioning that the next BMW 1er Coupe and Cabrio will receive a similar face to the compact.

Our current mode of thinking is that the 1er (F20) will carry sDrive badges signifying RWD. With a new badge for FWD or as discussed we could call this car "1001." or simply address it as the Compact.

I'll agree the face in the 6 needed work but Bangle did an AMAZING job with the other bimmers. It's a shame BMW listened to all the stogy old fan boys that preferred their cars to look like boxes.

Like the look. Reconnect with 2002 isn't a bad move.

I like the front end of the red one very very much! The single circular headlights were always a trademark for entry level bmws until the E30 came along. Sweet!

Hideous. But hopefully these crappy FWD cars will help reduce their overall company emissions, making room for more potent vehicles that are more relevant to our interests.
