white LED gauge lights complete
So I ended up doing the white LED gauge lights mod and I am pleased with the results. The LED's have a grayish/bluish tint to them which I don't like and I wish they were a little brighter. I am thinking that this is because they are cheap ebay crap lights. Although the color is not perfect to me I still do like it better than the stock orange. The needles are still white and I wanted to pain them red but I just could not find a solution. I bought VHT Night Shades Red lens spray tint but decided not to use it. This is because I practice painting on a white straw and the paint was blotchy and when I shined light through the straw you could tell there was white behind the red. I have never soldiered before but I am crafty so no issues there.

All of my Merc's have white, lights don't make any difference to me but that's why you have a dimmer switch

I like the contrast that the white gives with the rest of the lighting in the car. Just like previously there was too much orange going on and if I do anything else white it will be the same issue. The white also complements the navigation screen. I am always seeing people post about the orange is easy on the eyes and that's why BMW uses it, but how come the M3 uses white gauges then? Anyway even with the white gauges I was concerned that it was going to be no good for the eyes at night but that definitely is not the case, there are no issues with night driving.
