Good thread, agree with most of what's said, as a long time TG fan, pretty frustrated with the past 3-4 seasons as it really took a turn downhill in the predictability and unscripted fun departments.

Anyway, according to wikipedia
NEXT EPISODE - RS5 VS M3!!!!

The problem with M3 vs RS5 on Top Gear is that within the first 30 seconds, Clarkson will have declared which one will inevitably 'win' by sticking cardboard all over one of them and then deciding that anyone driving it has to wear a wig and smoke a pipe, or something equally stupid.

They will then test them by seeing which can drive up some stairs fastest, whilst towing a trailer full of sheep. This will determine which is best.

I like the comedy part for what it is, comedy (albeit badly written, tired and repetitive) but the road tests are now absolute shit. Neither funny, nor informative, might as well watch a YouTube video of the cars where some dickhead accidentally steps on a rolling road and hits the deck - that would be funnier and more likely to give an indication of real world performance.

That's true, there was a whole episode about a character who was obviously based on Clarkson. And yeah, Saxondale was ace.

Well, the main reason I wouldn't wear one would be the constant fear that someone would not read the text underneath and might think that I was, unironically, wearing a 'Top Gear' t-shirt.

Doesn't Clarkson hate BMWs and BMW drivers anyway? I think he's trained himself to start barking "Fritz" at the sight of a Beemer.

Does he, great, didn't know that as I never watch TG don't like it or him more specifically, so my choice.

Cheered me up that, think I'll buy another Audi next.

Need to test drive the RS5 as I've driven 3 M3's, but used to petrol and turbo oomph now so rev, rev, rev would have to be a want..............on shit fuel costs and VED bands!!!!!!!!!!!

The interior is rather nice though.

Yeah a few years ago he said the typical BMW driver had moved over to Audi's

we all know it's just a certain type of driver though. Nothing to do with either Marque!

i agree with op top gear is getting boring nowadays like the scripted crap for example that albania ep when james may drives off the cliff at the end and that snow plow episode when they set a 'man on fire' and even the vietnam episode where clarkson pretended he didnt kno how to ride a bike it was in the newspaper that he was learning 3 months before filming of that episode

however i still love the old stuff or not even old jus a few years old for example the 17 year old insurance task or the alfa romeo task and the amphibious car challenges those sort of things are the best and star in the priced car can get really boring
