Bosch vs Delphi Coils for N52

I have a 2008 328xi and am looking to do plugs and coils.
I see that the Delphi coils 12138616153 were originally for the turbo N54 engine but Turner says they're now approved for use in the N52 as well as of March 2015. I can buy these coils for about $40 a pop but I also noticed that the old Bosch coils are actually much cheaper now.

Are there any benefits of the Delphi coils that would have caused BMW to switch suppliers? They look a bit more solid in construction but I don't know if it would be worth the added cost.

Changed my coils recently and the revised part was Delphi. As you say, they look better made. Mine had a metal heat shield round the outer case which I guess helps preserve the internals from the effects of engine heat. I'd go for the revised design if I were you...

Delphi is the most recent one...but Bosch is the cheaper one. I ended up buying Delphi coils from FCPEuro. Under $400 for all 6 and NGK plugs isn't bad.
I'll let you guys know if I have any issues.

Go with Delphi, as mentioned above it is the revised ignition coils. It is the recommended choice for all BMW Dealerships, the reason why Delphi is now the go to for Dealerships is because alot of Bosch coils failed prematurely and caused alot of customers to keep coming back complaining about the same problem. Delphi fixed this.

Great deal on the Bosch's. $158 and free shipping...comes out to a little over $26 a coil. The reviews are very good as well.

Finally got my Delphi coils and NGK spark plugs installed. Car feels a bit smoother and pulls a bit harder, but that's probably to be expected with new parts. About $320 for all 6 parts from FCPeuro.

Just a note to other DIYers. FCP sells a 14" spark plug socket CTA-2395 which works great for all cylinders on the N52 except cylinder 5 which is right under the strut brace. For that one I had to use a shorter 6" long Schwaben S-3858-125 socket, so if you want one tool for everything I would recommend getting the Schwaben part.
