08 328i - just amp/front spkr upgrade??
Well I am thinking of spending 700-800 on upgrading the sound system in my car. So far ive searched all over, this site, bimmerfest and DIYaudio.com.
With my budget i think i will be limited to an amp, front speakers and maybe a processor (if needed). I will be able to install it myself. For amps JL XD600/6 but it is OOS and i just found a MB quart NAU 660..... Not sure if the MB is a good amp or not. its cheap and a 6 channel, and its available. If its not a good choice lmk, il steer clear. can you guys toss out ideas for front speakers?? also when hook up my I fone and use it as a MP3 i have to turn the volume up on the phone all the way. Once you turn up (car radio) to the point where its pretty loud, bass, etc etc there is a bit of "feedback" or distoration?? any fixes to this??

Replacement of the OEM amp requires a 6ch aftermarket amp with balanced-inputs.
$500 can give you an XD600/6 and the DLS R4 component set for the fronts (if this is an E90) at eBay. |

You should also be picking up Technics Harness
You should also be picking up Technics Harness
Because it means not cutting wires to install the amp plus a buffer relay for the remote turn on signal. |

you mean a wiring harness?? In past cars you just mate the same colors on the harness to the same colors on the CD deck and your GTG??
and you explain a little further?

Technic makes a plug and play harness
Technic makes a plug and play harness
This means you don't have to cut any wires . It plugs right into the amp plug/wiring harness where the old Hi Fi amp goes. It also buffers the turn on signal with a relay. Plugs right into the amp connector for Hi Fi he also has other types for the other systems. Also everything is labeled. There are multiple pictures of it in that link he gave you for his sisters upgrade, with only tweeters and a XD added. Last edited by ctuna; 12-26-2012 at 06:56 PM.. |
