Picked up my Edition M Sport

Picked up my new toy yesterday and it is f*cking magic!!!!!

320d Edition M Sport - 18's, Leather, Metallic and Bluetooth are standard. I added USB option, Auto headlights and wipers, upgraded the Nav to Pro and as it had already been built, heated seats.

Much more refined than my 120d and is a joy to drive. Already has 300 miles on the clock.

One thing that did open my eyes a little was the £70 to fill the tank. (Granted i will get more than 600 miles out of it)

Impressed by the 6FL USB option. I am using a usb stick as you can see from one of the photos.

Below are some photos before it gets too dirty.

Nice car Stephen - like those wheels very much.

What's that stick thing in between the front seats and what are those three pedals.

What's in the pocket on the console lid? Did that come with the car or did you somehow stick it there?

SoYank, that came as part of the USB option. Should i want to use an MP3 player or ipod.

Give the hubs a couple of days to get rusty, i only picked it up yesterday.

Thansk beauforty, i thought they may cause a harsh ride on RFT's and M Sport springs but it is pretty good.

Thanks for the nice comments folks.

I suppose you probably can't make our next meet on 26th April in Buxton given the distance?

Very nice indeed, the wheels suit it down to the ground.

That's for an iPod Floyd, comes with the 6FL option I think ('cos mine's got one).

Nice car Stephen - Same rims as mine.

I have yet to see any Si's out and about on the road so may now see some si wheels instead!

Just be careful they are quite easy to lightly scuff (As I have done both my nearside alloys )

They are also a pain to clean as you need to get to the inner rim to be cleaned properly. I usually let my local car hand wash place clean my wheels (I know I shouldn't but it's just convenient).

Congratulations Stephen, hope you enjoy your new toy. Loving those wheels, they would be first choice for an upgrade on my E92.

Hi Stephen, all the best with new car, it looks gorgeous.

I have almost the same on order from a couple of months ago, however some changes at work have delayed things a bit, and not exactly sure whats going to happen to it, i am soooo jealous of you.

The wheels (which i wasn't sure about) and the silver paint both look fantastic.

Can you tell me how the sat-nav is? Easy to use? Up to date maps? Still a not very nice voice as i had in a demo car?

Good luck again.

It just so happens I have 20 years of bank records because I use MS Money. Interesting fact about the price of fuel:

Mid '80s average tank price £12
Mid '90s average tank price £22
Taking £70 as a typical cost now, in the mid 2010s it will cost nearly £400 if the same exponential trend continues so something has to change

My car is being delivered tomorrow - with a full tank of fuel

Nice motor - wheels go well with the silver.

Fuel price is interesting - I don't see the price slowing anytime soon!!

Lisa, I had been reading your posts of the car you had ordered just around the time i decided to change my car. The Edition model is just too good to pass up. And there just happened to be one built and in the country on the day i went in.

I had the Pro Nav in my 1 series and i have always found it pretty easy to use.

It has the latest 2008 DVD so it should be up to date for a few months at least. I questioned the dealer on whether they would put an up to date DVD in my 1 when they sell it on and he said they didnt! I know that if i was buying a used car with Nav and it cam e with the 2004 DVD i would no tbe a happy bunny and these DVD's are £230.

He said that BMW are now allowing drivers to trade in their DVD's to the latest version for £100. Still not very charitable as a mate of mine with a Honda can get a new DVD for £35.

Anyway car is great and i am pleased with it, just needs a Spider box once it is run in.

Unfortunately mine came with half a tank of fuel and the dealer said it like he had done me a favour. That ran out after 24 hours of ownership so i have filled it up and reset the journey computer.

Should get over 600 miles from the tank so i shouldnt need to visit the petrol station too often.
