A mate of mine is selling his RS5 to raise funds for a property. 2013 (13 plate) very low miles of around 12k (weekend car), mint condition. I think its called Suzuka Grey but more like white. Not fully loaded but has some decent extras like 20" wheels, reversing camera to name a couple off the top of my head.

my mistake it must have been a 10 plate with a personalised reg but it was up for 24k I was going to view it but a house put everything on hold. There are a few on autotrader for less than 30k.

This is a very nice one for a very nice price http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-RS5-4...item43d675295f

90,000 miles on a 61 plate. That's a lot for a car like that.

+1. anything above 50k i would class as high mileage. i looked into buying a golf R mk6 last year and didnt really want 60k mileage on 11 reg which were cheap because in my eyes 60k is high miles.

Come on guys were not in the 90s anymore lol cars like that are good for 200k+ miles. Cars are built so much better now, all it comes down to is how well it's been looked after. Iv seen cars with 50k miles that are just a load of crap because owners havnt looked after it. You could buy a car that used to be an ex company car or ex rental car and you know people dont look after them sort of cars. But how do you know when your sitting in the dealers with a big smile on your face thinking your getting a great car with low millage when really it probably from auction and a year down the line, you have 50k on it and the gearbox goes bang. My boss had a 5 series from New, done 220k in it and all that's wrong with it is the drivers seat needs a bit of care, the car was mint and drove no different to his sons on 60k. I hope you see my point.

it doesnt matter about what they can do its about the value it will have when you come to sell

You would loose less on a car with high mileage than you would with a car with low mileage because you would get it for a good price in the first place. Rs5 with 30k miles is around 40k+ to buy, you put 40k miles on it in the time you have it and you loose 15k. You buy say the one with 90k miles for 26k and you sell it with say 130k on it at most you will loose 5k on it. Logical way of thinking. It all comes down to what mileage you like seeing on your dashboard really and if you are happy to throw money away for the sake of it then fair enough.

my opinion - Audis RS range have been known to hold value for a while. 1-2 years ago. RS4 were 15-20k. Now. can you find one for less than 15? maybe yes but very tricky.

Audi RS3. 1-2 years ago. could not find one under 30-32k. a year or two down the line what they now worth? 27-28k? losing 2k off a 30k+ car in a year - 2 years is good.

RS5 i dont see being any different. yes in 2 years probably 25k or bit less theyll be for decent. 30-35 now and losing 6 or 7k on it over 2 years and having your 15k-20k miles on is very good.

If anybody thinks they could even sell a 130k mile RS5 goodluck. you will be stuck with it unless you sell it for an absolute bargain. there are high mile RS5 up now for 28k with 70 thousand on em!

Audi S3 - Golf R32 - Leon Cupra R's and MK6 MK5 GTI , Focus ST3 etc fall in the same category. i had these a couple of years ago and the price i paid for them then. are still what there going for now

My cousin works for Mercedes Benz and they are fully aware that Audi's are the best at retaining value of the trio: BMW, Merc and Audi, in fact as a large scale manufacturer, I can't think of any other brands that retain value as well as Audi

Did anyone realize that used car prices have gone up since late last year. I have been monitoring RS5 and 640d, so far I only see higher price. I didn't buy last year as I thought by early next year I will get better deal, which didn't happen. In Dec' 14 there were 12 plate 640d Convertible (well specced) for £33k, now like for like is around £35k mark.

Btw. I was monitoring 640d Convertible since almost one year (4 years, <30k on the clock) and they have been at £33-35k. For RS5, 4 years, <30k is around £34-35k, recently dropped a bit, prev it was £37k. For 650i I paid almost £33k, not much difference but when I was looking RS5 was well above £35k and they won't budge on price.

btw. I sold my X5 after 9 months of ownership for the same price I bought it for, but mine was cheapest on the market and superbly specced with no problem anywhere whatsoever. Somethins weird with the market, this is the time when new number plate arrive, is this why old cars are in short supply hence higher prices?

From my experience best time to buy is December, worst time to buy is Jan, Feb.

With the exception of 4x4's, cars tend to sell for less around November/December and sell for more during June/July. 4x4's are the opposite as a general rule of thumb.
