German Speeding Fine Calculator

I don't know how it works for ED people when their car is caught by an automated speed camera, but here is a link for a site that calculates how much the fine will be for driving over the speed limit.

Of course, it can also be used for our E90Post members living in Germany.

The fines are the same whether you are pulled over or caught by a camera.

Fine Calculator

Some translations -

Überschreitung is difference between the posted speed and your speed (ie, if you drive 100km/h in an 80km/h zone then you would input 20 in the box)

Select innerhalb if it was inside a city/town
Select außerhalb if it outside of city/town
Although I'm not 100% sure of the exact meaning of "geschlossener Ortschaften". Maybe one of our German native speakers can clarify

Fahrzeugart should be PKW

Fahrerlaubnis auf Probe should be set to Keine Probezeit bzw. Verstoß begangen nach Ablauf der Probezeit.

Click Regelsatz ermitteln to calculate the fine.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
On the next screen, there will be a bunch of different figures.

Bußgeld is the fine amount

Gebühren und Auslagen is the service charge

As far as I know, the following only applies to holders of German licenses. I don't know if this also applies to non-German EU licenses or USAREUR licenses. I doubt it (but don't take my word for it )

Punkte is how many points will be added to your license

Fahrverbot denotes the length of any applicable driving ban

I'm not exactly sure what Probezeitmaßnahmen refers to as I'm not too familiar with the German licensing system. It seems it doesn't apply unless you are already on some sort of restricted license.

Now let's hope not many people have to use this site.

Hmmm, cannot compute >100kph over limit. Any ideas what they do to ED folks that are >50kph as far as suspending license?
