I've searched online for a while now and haven't been able to find any threads on swapping the base stereo system with a Hifi off of another e92. I already know that I would have to code the head unit to output as hifi but was wondering if the job is a simple swap from another car. Is there anything I wouldn't be able to swap that would stop me from doing this?

That's mostly because its much easier to do a aftermarket
upgrade that will be way better than a Hi Fi system .
Hi Fi is not all that good ,weak bass harsh highs and falls right apart
with any volume .For a HiFi upgrade you still need
a wire Harness that goes to the the trunk, rewiring for the underseats
and Tweeter Pods for the doors.

Bimmertech has an upgrade for the Hi Fi and base system
that is fairly complete and will sound better than a L7 system.
