someone bumped me from the back help!!!
Hi
I just got into an accident. I was stopped at red light and this guy he slammed into me. Police told us to go to the collision center. I am in a tow truck now going there. What do I do from here. Tow truck guy says i should let him take it to Prochilo Bros. I didnt call insurance company yet. Other guys car is damaged bad. My back bumper is broken. Tell me what to do!!

Call insurance now, bring it to your own body shop of your choosing, not because the tow truck said so. Once you let insurance know and you will pay the tow for now. Insurance should pay you back whatever you spent after all said and done.
If the car is drivable just bring it home and drive or tow it back to your insurance shop. If you go to a shop the insurance recommends and have unforeseen future problems with the body or paint you can bring it back no charge, no questions asked. Good luck. |

^ yup, call your insurance ASAP, do not let the tow truck driver take it to just ANY body-shop.
Your insurance will recommend a shop for you to take your car to.. Budd's Collision in Oakville is a great spot. Do the paperwork at the collision center, it will be deemed that you were NOT at fault. Good luck and keep us posted |

Truck guy is full of shit.... Scare tactic for him to get a $$ kick-back from Prohilo Bros.
Ignore him. If you car is drivable, you do not have to rush your decision as far as WHERE it will get repaired. If you have an OEM bumper, that's what you will get replaced, unless you can convince them to do an Mtech one... |

I wouldn't let the tow truck guy take the car to wherever he wants, even if it were free.
BMW Certified Collision Center FTW!

Should i just drive home and then decide with help from fellow e90post members? So i dont have to worry about this other guy running away or anything right?
It wasnt even his own car. And i dont see him here yet at the collision center I am okay as long as i report here now and go home right?

BWM Certified Collision Center is the best. I drove my car back after the accident, as it was "drivable".. Not sure if yours is, ask the cops |

If towing is not going to cost me money, is there any reason i should drive it myself?

first of all, your insurance has a list of approved shops they deal with... not all shops are compatible with your insurance's policy.
Once you get that info, then find a shop... it's not really going to be too much difference in getting your car repaired other than the turn around time; though make sure they are BMW certified collision repair. Call a few places (google them) and ask about how their schedule is. The fastest turn around would be the one i would choose. If your insurance policy provides you with a rental vehicle, then the time it takes for your car to be repaired shouldn't make a difference as long as you have a vehicle to take you from point A to point B, right? |

you may want to take it to European Autobody. They are BMW certified and have heard nothing bad about them. They are pricey but since insurance will cover it why not?

erm.. I hope you got all the info from the police at the scene - file # and all that stuff, not to mention the other driver's info (insurance, DL, plate #, etc).
Take it to a -good- shop - it doesn't mean that you need to get the work done there, but at least it'll be 'safe'; I agree, don't take your car to 'some' workshop the tow-truck guy suggested. Since it's material damage, relax and breathe easy - no one was hurt, I take it? |

Keep in mind, damage will be properly assessed after your bumper is removed. |
