whats up guys....wow long long day. Started w/ a wash around 11am and finished at just about midnight w/ the wax. Nothing but exterior work.

what was done:

- all wheels pulled and wheel wells and suspension completely degreased and scrubbed......wow was that a mess

- full wash with about 5 different rinses. I have never seen paint so in need of attention, at least on a car that I own!!! No beading goin on here

- dry w leaf blower and microfiber waffle weave

- moldings pulled

- FULL clay bar treatment, seriously dirty clay afterwards

- Menzerna SIP w orange pad......the pad was TOAST afterwards, mark will probably post pics of that nasty ass thing

- Menzerna 106FF w white pad

- Menzerna glaze w black pad

- jeffs acrylic jett

- CG Pete's 53 wax

- Aerospace 303 on all moldings after they were degreased

-polished tips

the above took over 12 freaking hours...i'm toast.

here are 2 final shots, its Beam and Coke and then bed for me.

tomorrow is full interior detail, seats will be pulled, everything steam clean and degreased.

thanks! but the wheels are not mine, I got the car w/ very nice 18" BBS RCJ's, but the tires on them are bald so i'm borrowing the style 5's from a friend.

Looks fantastic Matt

Do you have any problem with the Acrylic Jett bonding to the glaze? I've always found that the oils and wetting agents in the glaze don't allow sealants to bond and the durability is compromised.

I can't wait to see it on Wednesday at Pubdog

I havent had problems with it, but honestly I've very rarely used a glaze so we'll see how this works.

Based on how hard it was to get the Jett off I think it bonded pretty well. I let it dry for a good hour or so while we went out and grabbed some dinner. A MF constantly sprayed down with instant detailer was the only way I could get it off cleanly....so thats probably a good sign.

I need to get a compound with more bite though since there were some hairline scratches that I couldnt get out w/ my stuff, so the Jett will probably have to be re-applied anyway.

Here are some pics from mscire2 over on bimmerforums that hung out and helped me all yesterday, he's my e36 guru. He took well over 100 shots so when he posts them i'll put them up.
