Looks like there is no more tracking the TOLEDO until it gets to New York. The vessel is not reporting anything to www.sailwx.info . I will check in a week to see the progress of the ship. Man what a let down from tracking the ship every minute of every day .

With no update from you in over a day I was fearing that it may have hit an iceburg and sunk. It is taking the same route as the Titanic you know...

Yesterday I spent about an hour trying to find some trace of the Toledo, and I thought I was an incompetent tracker.
However reading the post by our MasterTracker Enkur, makes me feel better, that after all I am not so incompetent. But knowing that my fate, desperation, longing and obsession is shared by several other members makes me feel good. Guys we gotta support each other in this upcoming tough week! Snareman, I wanted to ask you, your 335i has step and sportspack. Did you check if you got the oil cooler or not, I forgot? What date was your car produced? Let me know Thanks for your support guys. PS my wife says that this thread is like BMWA (anonymous) it is like getting a daily fix! |

PS what kills me is that I could not find anywhere a departure arrival schedule for the AutoMarine in New Jersey or a General Arrival Departure schedule for that port!

Yes, thats my setup. My car was built in mid Feb. I have no idea about the oil cooler. I didn't know anything about it while I was over there and am suddenly seeing all of these threads. How do I know if I have a bad one?

I do not think you have a "bad one"
Either you have the cooler or not 2 things to look at, your dashboard, does your oil gauge go 120-210-300 or 120-250-340 And once you get the car, just check in the right front wheel well and see if you see through an opening a silver radiator. My car run a bit over the middle when I was there but never got up real high, on the other hand the outside temp was never more than 50F Well we will keep communicating and work on this together I looked at your pictures again, you have the 120/210/300 and are running at 250 on the highway, we will see once we get the cars. |

Hey mags, I'm a little confused by this? I was under the impression they all come in through NY and go by truck (or MAYBE train) from there. No?

I found the following website that has the New York Container Terminal schedule... I wonder if that is where the TOLEDO will arrive
<A>http://www.nycterminal.com/t3/index....elschedule_pi1[test]=test&user_vesselschedule_pi1[pointer]=0&user_vesselschedule_pi1[mode]=1&user_vesselschedule_pi1[sort]=arriv_date%3A1</A>

This is where the ship will dock
http://www.panynj.gov/DoingBusinessW...to_marine.html so I think we will not pick it up on the site you mentioned. As for transportation I attached a pick of what the trucks look like. They do not use rail for east coast, at least not as far as I know We keep waiiiting I hope the Toledo gets a tailwind/wailwave whatever Ezatnova, you are kidding but I did ask about putting a gps locator on the car and they said anything that was not factory installed could be removed ie stolen. |

Actually I think it is overhyped, from what I read in March they started putting the higher readings this way if the car is running at 260 the needle is "in the middle" instead of being off to the right and thus looking like it is overheating.
once you get your car, look under the hood and the right wheel well, if you have a cooler you are set, if not, then if the car overheats (which I doubt it will with normal day to day usage) you go to your dealer and tell him to get u a cooler! |

And it sounds like it should only take them about 3 months to get and install it while I drive a Chevy Cavalier rental.

Well, we need something to keep our mind on something besides not knowing if the Toledo is still floating or has sunk after hitting an iceburg! I thought ships were done sinking, but then there was that one in Greece just last week. I'm sure our boat is much more robust. Atleast I hope so.

And dont forget about the TRICOLOR that went down in 2002 as it collided with another ship in the English Channel. The ship was carrying about 3000 BMW, SAAB and Volvos
http://www.cargolaw.com/2003nightmare_tricolor.html They eventually salvaged the ship for scrap http://www.tricolorsalvage.com/pages/home.asp

The Titanic sank on April 14th you know... Right in our travel window. I wonder how long it would take them to get us all new cars if the boat went down. At least then we'd all get the additional 6 Nav buttons.
