What is there to tighten? I have installed several coilover set ups.
You have the clamp bolt. check You have the 3 top mount bolts. Check You have the bracket for the sway bar/brake lines. Check You have the two locking rings on the coilevers. Check Its a pretty simple install How much preload are you running? |

How do you know how much pre-load to set?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

you don't however the more preload you run the more compression stroke you get, but loose rebound stroke. Too much preload will over extend the schock and ruin them, probably ride horrible. Too little preload and you just lost compression stroke and are probably going to bottom out constantly. Everyone says leave preload alone, just make sure the spring is not vibrating up and down....snug is the word people like to use. I think preload make all the difference.

So these are almost double adjustable equivelent coils???
This is more complicated than I thought they would be.

The issues definitely sound like they could be installation related. There is a lot of stuff to check and double check when doing a coilover install. Where is it bottoming out? Front or rear?

In all honesty, I think it handles and rides better than the V3 equipped cars I have driven. I am really happy with the setup on my car. I did a canyon run up to the big bear area last night in it and it handled like it was on rails even on the stock swaybars.

Nothing is loose, its just a loud bang when the wheel bottoms out. It happens in the front. Nothing is installed wrong, the install like i said before is quite simple. Its a total of 5 bolts per side....preload help out alot, but other than that, the stock suspension simply has more travel then the jic coilovers. Or at least it seems that way. Maybe you guys drive on glass roads. If you can take a picture of the front going over a pothole. |

This is true, however the stock suspension wouldnt bottom out over these holes. I drive the same route daily. Thats why i think the jic have less travel the stock, which is a shame

I have used coilovers on several different cars. My autox toy had custom valved koni's with custom rate gc coilovers. This is not user error.
if possible, i would like to see an incar video of someone hitting a pothole at 40 or so. Doesnt even have to be pothole, even a 1 inch tall transition from pavement to concrete will do the trick. My car makes a loud thud that goes through the entire car....this is the suspension bottoming out. There is nothing that could be done about this aside from increased travel....which is simply not there. |

I've now had this setup for ~4 months. My lasting impressions of the JIC Cross suspension is still great. The ride quality at 9/15 front and 11/15 rear is outstanding. The car stays very flat in the corners and remains very controllable from the drastic reduction in bodyroll.
Long road trips are comfortable and not jarring by any means. The suspension is firm but very forgiving over bumps and cracks in the road. No pogoing here! Let us know if you have any questions about these coilovers, we have them in stock! Nick

^^^ I agree completely. I have mine on for over 1 year and they just inspire confidence in corners. Even large mid-corner bumps do not affect the car. The suspension just rides over them, reacts so quickly, never skates or steps sideways - it just stays hooked into the pavement.
I'm loving this set-up more and more. Do you have any track days on them yet?

I have a set of these waiting to go on so I might be contacting you with lots of questions. Any tips on how I should set these up?
They are used so the previous guy set them up and liked them but his wife didnt so they are in my living room with m3 bushings.
