Thats the dumbest reason. "Because they are a couple grand". Who cares if they are painted in his garage. Maybe thats what he likes and wanted to do. Maybe he doesn't have the mney right now to spend $8000 on a set of hideous HRE's.

Thats not what I'm saying. The HRE's are ugly as hell in my opinion and his wheels could have been done better but he's happy with it. Leave him be. Some of the people on here are so immature is crazy. Makes me think more and more that it's Mommy and Daddy's little angels on here.

No offense Long. Just an example
although i see your point, the MAJOR DIFFERENCE in your example is that the wheels in subject are volks. not stock wheels. i dont give a fuck who the owner is, even if it was mr.bmw himself - PAINTED STOCK WHEELS ARE LAME.

dont get me wrong, volk has made some ugly ass wheels, hre has made some ugly ass wheels. a lot of "high end" wheel companies have made some ugly ass wheels. but that has nothing to do with painting stock wheels... and in a bright ass color on top of that.

There is nothing wrong with stock painted wheels. Go on the M3 forum and 1M forum and tell all the guys that have painted 359 style wheels that painted stock wheels are lame.

Mine are in the shop right now being painted as we speak... 2 were damaged and had to be repainted anyway... I went with Lamborghini Dark Metallic Gray.

always an exception to the rule. the 359's look good in almost any color. i should've made the disclaimer "excludes certain M wheels".

but a stock non-M wheel? lame. but thats just my opinion. when i see a car, regardless of make, on the road and it has painted stock wheels (usually black), i think it looks ghetto. i used to have painted stock wheels... back in 97. and it was ghetto even then. but i laugh about it now.
