thankfully, i filled up before the storm. i let the car coast to preserve gas and use the highway as much as possible.. the gas lines are just bananas.

That being said, I do think that what's done is done, and we just need to move forward and rebuild. |

Absolutely... Once things get back to normal I will put up a video for sure. We all made it through the storm okay although we are going on day 8 without power, but things could have been a lot worse.

Still without power. I had gotten lucky to have a helpful person on the phone from Lowes that informed me of 2 trucks with generators at the East Rutherford location. I went there and got one, would not fit in the car, had to buy ratchet straps and strap it in the trunk. This is the morning of the storm... Had a friend promise me his generator even after I rebuilt the carb since he left gas in it for 3 years and turned to varnish, he disappeared on me and took it to his g/f's house to help her although he is always fighting with her and breaking up with her, he decided to break his promise to me and help her after everything my wife and I do for him. Needless to say haven't heard from him since and I do not ever want to now.
The car is ok, just washed it yesterday in the cold, I couldn't see out of the windows and side mirrors anymore. Had roof shingles fly off the roof but replaced them already. I have nothing to cry about, I paid 900 for a generator and 300 in gas already for it...I would rather that than what happened to my backyard (Jesrey Shore) Just in Sea Bright and Monmouth the Saturday before the hit and it was beautiful out, ya never would know it was coming. The new storm on it's way Wednesday is not going to be pretty to an already destroyed coast line and weakend trees and poles. Impresive to see utility companies here from all over the country...Florida, Alabama, etc... Proud site to see. On the other hand, the looters need to be shot on site. Boats are being stripped to nothing, homes robbed, generators stolen, people shooting others at gas stations, fights, etc... I say shoot! |

Still no power at my house. One tree down, but no damage. Our friends had one land on their house and destroyed one of the rooms. Thankfully it's already under construction.

Same here but after seeing some of the homes in my area split in two by trees, im not complaining. Sandy was one mean force of mother nature!

Tough tough. Keep safe guys. I didn't even think of the other side effects of storms - looters.

if someone is taking food, water, candles etc. from an unoccupied store that's one thing... busting into someone's house and taking their TV or whatever that's something else. "Looter" covers a lot of ground. I've never done it and hope to God I never have to but I would not fault someone for taking food that nobody else is using if he is hungry or has a hungry family.

Heyo.
Power went out again yesterday! But came back today. What is happening in our world! Insurance said my car is most likely total loss. I must say I've delt without 5 different people and all super friendly and helpful. Hopefully they'll be helpful when I get my car $.... Curious. How much do u think I would get for it? Do they do somewhat near KBB value. Or nothing close to what I expect. Car was valued about $25k for trade in few months back. 09 e92 loaded 18k mi. |
