Is there a wasp in my windscreen?

Travelling back along the M56 last night, back from the monthly trip to the curry mile i heard what can only be described as a high pitched buzzing noise coming from the top of the windscreen on the drivers side? It does actually sound like a wasp. Only happens at speed, so obviously wind related...

checked the car when i get got home, nothing loose, no trims flapping and nothing trapped between the rubber?

Anyone any ideas?

Also, switching the wipers on/off made no difference to the noise....

Your thoughts appreciated

Is there a TSB to remove this? Also, do think this will be covered under warranty?

I had this wasp-related issue after I had a new screen fitted to my E90. Shrill buzzing at speed?

Never resolved it and sold the car yesterday, so no help to you at all sorry.

It must be something on the outside if its affected by wind, maybe something stuck in the seals? Anything on the windscreen wipers themselves causing it?

Mightily annoying I bet!

I had something similar on a vectra 5 or 6 years ago. It only happened above 90 mph. In that case it was a door seal.

My guess is this is something similar (or a wasp) so there is no option but to go and see the dealer.

This is at crusining speed...80-ish...and it is bloody annoying...its not especially loud but can be heard all the time, even with the tunes pumping.

I think what annoys me the most with this car is that you just get all the warranty issues sorted out, back and to to the stealers week in week out, just to find something else f**ks up...really coming to the end of my teather with this motor, for all its good points, the bad ones certainly piss me off!

I know this sounds really obvious, so sorry for mentioning it, but have you checked the window is FULLY up? A tiny gap, even if not visible, can cause wind whistling noises.

I have but, i should of been a bit clearer, it is coming from the front windscreen, drivers side. And it really does sound like a wasp, although quite a high pitch. Something is vibrating in the wind...the hunt continues....thanks for your input though, much appreciated
