BMS Filter...initial impression

im pretty new here and just wanted to say hi first of all..

I just installed the BMS Filter and im not all too happy about the install..

removing the stock airbox was pretty easy but trying to fit the air filter was not that fun for me...

the front pipe is not working too well for me...if the front piece had a slight bend to it, it may fit more snug..right now the front portion touches the alternator and i dont think thats so good..is this a bad thing??should i try repositioning it?
maybe i installed it wrong??

Can i get other people's concern about this...thanks

Mine doesn't touch the alternator. You should probably readjust it. I had to before it would fit correctly. i think the alternator could heat up enough to harm the filter ends.

Its easy to put the intake on backward. Make sure you have the unit oriented correctly.

+1 Also have you contacted Terry or went onto www.n54tech.com, installed mine with the help of a fellow forum member, also check terry's site for a video on the install..it shouldn't be touching the alternator

I had the same issue with mine. Terry talked me through how to set it up right, look at www.n54tech.com, he mentioned fitment issues in the thread I posted over there and how to correct them.

after you get it in there good, give it a week. that engine will roar.

and hey, is this something I should remove before taking it in for regular maintenance?

Except that mine just didn't fit. Even after adjusting it, it was still closer than I was comfortable with to the throttle body and the bolt head that holds the intake pipe below it. I sold mine.
