help, my 07 328i stalls

Hey guys, I tried searching but couldn't come up with anything.

Here's my problem. My wife's 07 328 stalled twice in the past week.

its an automatic and here is what happened both times.

1st time, I was stopped at the lights. to restart, I had to pull the key out and restart.
the 2nd time,
my wife was driving and was slowing down at the lights. In order for her to restart, she also had to pull the key out and start again. When the car stalled on her, the steering wheel locked as she was trying to coast onto the side of the road.

engine cuts out, power still stays on . (which is different than the other symptoms i was reading online)

I tried replicating it, and couldn't. I also hooked up an OBDII scanner and it had no codes.

has anyone had, or have heard of any similar issues?
I'm pretty mechanically inclined, so I tried to replicate the problem today and couldn't. Drove it hard, drove it normal.. slammed on my brakes..etc.

Thanks guys,

What are your mods? I guess you have some since you post it in the mods section.

Well we could still try to help

A member had a similar issue with his car. I would rush it to the dealer on a towing since it could be life threatening if the steering blocks at high speed!

I recently had a similar problem, turns out that my head gasket was separating. Mine was emitting and high pitched whistle as well, not sure if yours is.

thanks for this being your 1st post
are you sure it was a head gasket, and not a valve cover gasket?
