How to tape m3 spoiler?

I'm getting my m3 spoiler later on this week and I bought some 3M tape to attach it to the trunk. My question is, the m3 spoiler is slightly curved so I'm guessing you can't just stick one piece of tape through the whole spoiler? Would I use two pieces of tape or how do you guys recommend on attaching the tape?

You will need to cut it into strips and use slightly narrower strips when you go towards the edge.

Make sure you tape all areas in which the spoiler touches your trunk so that you won't get any edges sticking up.

What type of double-sided 3M tape is it? Do they sell stuff specifically for this? Flat or foam? If foam, how thick should it be?

Maybe I should do a eh?

people have used non automotive, regular household use 3m tape ... but go to a local automotive shop and it should carry automotive double sided tape that is meant for car applications and that should work fine ... it isn't foam

3M Exterior Mounting tape is the best, it's a grey foam tape with red backing.

Just watched an application at a dealer...

for one piece, cut to size and mount to spoiler leaving backer tape car side dowm,

taper the ends like suggested above.

Pre-measure / guage placement and mark starting point with small pencil mark.

Then peel a little away backer tape at one end (do not remove it all!) and place at your pencil marked start point. Stick to the car and apply pressure and remove the car side backing tape as you apply, lining up placement as you go.

Whole thing took 10 minutes.

^ Gotcha!! Hadn't thought of doing it like that but it makes perfect sense.
