I have combox, Nav, BT with assist, and I just got the 6NR retrofit via software coding by bimmertech. But when I try to play video file from my Iphone 4 it plays the sound but I get a blank screen for the picture. Anyone else get this? Do I need the snap in adapter to play video files from my iphone?

Are you connecting your iphone to 6fl socket or 6nr?
It depends on what approach you have taken.
You can have it with;
Baseplate
Switchable a/v plate
Standard 6fl base plate with custom apple a/v wiring

I tried it with the regular usb cable on the 6FL usb port in the center console.

You need additional wiring to CIC HU for video (FBAS). Your options are: 1. getting a snap-in+wiring, or 2. Apple A/V adapter+wiring.
