350z - for less than £6k now..

bargain of the century or what? I can't remember a car as desirable as one of these at these prices in the past. Still looks fantastic and comes with lots of extra's as standard (are you reading this BMW!?!?!?!)

Usual Nissan bullet proof engines( I would imagine) and fairly cheap to run. I would also say at these prices, they're a far better bet than a used E46 M3. Not much slower but make a fab noise. The GT models, albeit slightly higher milers, from 2005 are starting at £7k ish.

buy a GT model for £6k and have a Supercharger bolted to it.

The Z actually looks quite good stock, here how mine started and ended

At 6K they are a bargain and mine never visited the dealer in 4 1/2 years of ownership

Unfortunately they are not easy to tune and you can spend over £1K to gain as little as 10BHP....the supercharger kits are not straight forwards and your looking at around £4-5K to get a decent one installed...you can ofcourse go for the twin-turbo route, you looking at least 7K+ but for that your have a absolute monster of a machine....if I hadn't felt the need to get a more sensible / mature car my Z would have gone down the force induction route for sure.

The Z is very very tail happy, and TC was more than happy to let the tail slide quite a bit before kicking to save your butt. Around a track it can equal a E46 M3s laptime despite been down on power....but only with a decent driver at the wheel....I was always far too heavy footed, and always ran out of talent long before the car did

Not sure if its a better car than a E46 M3, never driven an E46 M3, but have to confess my E90 335i does beat the Z in just about every department (not tracked her yet though)....and thats before I've really started to mod her

You can save nearly £8k on a new 370z. Very tempting

It is a beautiful looking car. They don't seem to force induce them as much as the Americans, where I'm sure I saw a dedicated thread to forced induction on a forum once.

Gangzoon - if the Z was twin turbo/supercharged - which would be the better car - the 335i or the Z? ( drivability only)

Was thinking this very thing myself you know.......saw a lovely grey on at the weekend and it was obviously well looked after, was simply stunning.......surely will be a classic of the future?

This had the tan interior and it was scrummy

A twinturbo Z is essentially an GTR but lighter and without 4 wheel drive or any electronic aids...your going have to be a driving god not to put one backwards into a hedge. Theres a U tube video of one been launched from standstill and the driver nearly lost it just trying to keep it in a striaght line.

335i actually drives better than my Z...but only since i've had a LSD installed. Went out for a "run" this weekend and had fun keeping up a group of motorbikes.

Would I like to own an twinturbo Z, Yes please...would I trade my 335i for one...No thank you...would I trade my 335i for a new 370z.....No thanks....Damn you BMW why did you make the 335i so good ( or I could just be getting old).

This came up on the 350Z forum recently, to be honest I cannot really see how a mass produced car from one of the largest global car makers could ever become a classic. Yes if you bought one of the limited addition GT4s from new and kept it under lock and key in 30 year times it might be worth something to someone....but than why not go and spend £27K (yes thats the new list price before negotiations, very good value ) on a investment property or some really expensive wine

Look at things like the GT4 Celica, Toyota Supras, Rx-7s, or even the mighty skylines. All great cars, but ulitmaltly all end up been worth very little and been chaved up with Halfords tat

But you could nearly say the same about every car on the market at the minute mate.

I think the whole notion of a classic has changed. I mean, I dont think the 205gti, mk 1 golf gti boys knew they were driving classics back in the day, yet cars like these redefined the enjoyment of driving.

I mean in its standard form, it is lovely, N/A, powerful and rwd.

Its pretty unique looking too and where the TT failed IMO, this succeeds.

The question is, what defines a future classic nowadays?

I think your reasoning fits for say, the S2000's of this world whereas this, car is different, well for me anyway.

Fuck, i dont know why

lol

It's all relative isn't it but, put it this way, back in 2005 my first 350Z certainly felt quick enough (but eventually I disired a little more), then in 2009 the Roadster seemed to almost satisfy that need with the upgraded engine (you can tell by the bonet bulge) but in 2011 the 370Z just kicks ass. Don't even know what it puts out as standard but with it's extra 19bhp it's just gain it's sublime .
