I can't believe the stock transmission holds all that torque.
Congrats on the achievement. I believe this platform will hit 700+HP with pure E85 in the near future.
We did a bit over 700whp a few months back on my 62mm 6MT. We hope to be making well north of that in the very near future.

Are we still more or less in the dark as to how much power the stock bottom end can take? I assume the ST cars are still running OE pistons, rods, etc etc. Just curious..

Thanks for the well wishes everyone ... much appreciated!

First and foremost I'd like to thank the following folks:
shiv@vishnu - for making some nice, go-fast goodies
sean@fftec - for making some damn sweet hardware and having a great team of wrench-heads
mikeb@fftec - incredible support on this project and putting up with my random phone calls.
cn555ic - for unlocking the possibilities with the 6AT
wedge1967 - for obsessing with cn555ic and being the first! Thanks for all your help!

@135iDCT - i sent the vishnu guys my raw footage. They'll post something up all edited and pretty (video editing is beyond my ability/interests)

@fully_bolted - I wouldn't necessarily say it has cured all the 4-5 issue. It has definitely helped. I was able to get the 4-5 shift to be an issue on one run. I'm working with vishnu/fftec on getting us a little more room to work with so, it will be completely addressed. I would say its 90-95% addressed. I'm very interested in seeing what SIKH335's 6AT experiment yields.

@boostede90 - i was pretty empty on 91 (maybe a gallon left in there) and then put 5 gallons of unleaded race gas in. I'm also using 100% meth.

@135pat - not sure what "kinks" are left to work out? If its regarding the 4-5 shift, I had that problem when I was stock turbo + FBO + meth. If it is revving even higher, i'm hoping more 6AT reflash research can solve that ... I'd love to rev up to what the 6MT guys are able to do. Regarding the abilities of the stock bottom end - not sure what it can take, but the 6MT crowd will be pushing more than the 6AT crowd at this point in time (due to our lower rev limits).

@sick335 - I'm having a pretty good day ... now I need to get some more free time from work to drive it more often.

Not sure if i missed anyone's questions ...

Mods List:
(see signature below)
Stock Engine Internals
Stock Transmission
Stock Driveshaft and HalfShafts
Wheels - Apex 18" (front) and Kosei K-1 17" (rear)
Tires - 235x45x18 Pilot Sport (front) and Mickey Thompson ET 275x40x17 (rear)

Traction is a challenge at times, but that can be said for many cars who are FBO and any upgraded turbos. It was a nice and cold evening ... little damp (drying from rain earlier in the day).

Its incredibly fun to drive ... its a little scary doing the 60-130 on that Mexican Highway. The road is narrow, has a high crown and a quick drop off into the cow fences. Needless to say the operating window is tight.

There were a couple of faster runs (had better traction), but I forgot to put the flash card back into the VBOX so it didn't record it. So those runs don't count.

Can't wait to see most of y'all at Shift-S3ctor!

You'll have to find an individual who can flash your TCU. We don't do it ourselves because we aren't a big fan of software pirating. But after looking at the data, the Alpina flash didn't do anything measurably different under full load. Shift rpm and shift time were similar to that of the stock TCU flash. Most of the differences seem to be shift behavior during partial throttle/load. We still had to make some concessions in terms of top end boost to keep the transmission happy. I think an upgrades transmission is necessary in order to actually good full power above 6500rpm and between gears. These cars have the potential of being soo much faster.

I see probably not worth getting then! Hopefully someone comes out with an upgraded AT for these cars!

@laid_black_335i - Yay! ... they finished editing the video.

There were lots of long sections of me just driving back to the starting point, looking at logs and stuff. Much more "exciting" now ... only the good stuff.

Looking at the video i can predict our race results.

If we start in third gear 50mph, i will jump 1-2 cars cuz of quicker spool, 4th gear you'll catch up(if not pass), and 5th gear you'll be 2-4 cars ahead. Just seeing those RPMs climb in 4th gear scares the shit outa me lol

Have you done any vbox testing? If so, we can compare data and plot distance vs time.
