Square tires on Staggered wheels
Basically a simple question regarding rolling diameter being within it's 1% for an awd car, would a square setup of 225/35 on a 9 inch wheel and a 10 inch wheel satisfy the 1%?
Mixed answers on this across the web and I honestly don't expect much here either except people asking why I am using those tires when I could fit a 275. It's my understanding that the diameter of a tire does not change with the different widths of a wheel (after reading the trusty interweb) while I originally believed it did. Can someone confirm por favor? |

My winter setup is 245/40/18 square on my stock 287's which are 8"F and 8.5"R and I had no problems. A full inch may make a larger difference though.

A full inch is a massive difference. I don't think that would work.

Do you have the wheels and tires? Mount them and lay a straight edge across the front and back tires(off the car). You will see if there is a difference. There may be a small difference. I can't see there being a big enough difference to matter. But why not run the 275/30 on the rear? If you look at the specs for the tires you are planning on using it states what width wheels you can safely mount them on. Usually it's around a 2" width. 225/35/19 is only upto a 9" width rim.

You might want to read this http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/sh...71&postcount=1, but the 225/35/19 will be really stretched at 10 wide.
