TPMS turned off?

I just replaced my wheels and tires and had new TPMS sensors installed in the new set. My car never threw a sensor error and I never reset the TPMS. Do you think the previous owner had the TPMS coded out? How do I check?

Obvious way seems to lower the tire pressure to 15psi see check if the light comes on?

Haha... I guess I just overlooked the simplest method because that would just be too easy!
