Got A Recall Letter from BMWNA
I want to verify this is the same old HPFP recall letter.
It's dated February 2011 (I thought a letter was sent out much earlier). BMW Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign n54 High-Pressure Fuel Pump Campaign NUmber: 10EA02 Blah, blah, blah...BMW will repair your vehicle free of charge. The reason I created this thread was because I: 1) Have already had my HPFP replaced early last year (maybe February 2010). Thus, I have the software from that time (I guess). Do I need to take action? 2) I have Dinan S2 and my car has run perfectly since flash and HPFP replacement. Should I still take in in despite my perfectly running car? I've read the new software update makes your car even slower and I'm not sure how the "fix" is Dinan compatible/non-compatible. Advice? Cliffs: 2010 335i E92, M6, Dinan S2, 1 HPFP replaced early last year, should I go in for warranty work (HPFP Recall) on a Dinan S2 vehicle running perfectly? |

I say if it's not broke don't "fix" it...the pump is still under warranty even if you don't have this recall performed right now

I went in this past week to get a door handle replaced, and they said I needed to replace my hpfp, so I got that done too

I just did this and they installed the 446 pump and reflashed my Dinan.
I honestly don't feel any difference in performance, but I guess I got a new HPFP out of it (Already replaced it once at like 2,000 miles). Dinan S2 was loaded back. I still think I want to get a boost gauge since I think I've gotten used to the power increase and want to make sure it's not placebo. When I first got S2, I was blown away...now, it just feels quick. Last edited by BayMoWe335; 10-08-2011 at 11:21 AM.. |
