aFe Vs Injen

Hey guys. Just to warn you my flame suit is on. I ordered an intake and I know that it produces MINIMAL gains in power but I mostly like the deeper sound it makes. I ordered an aFe and it came yesterday but now of course I just read about the maf sensor being messed up from the oil vapors. What are the chances that I'll get a "working" intake and it has no problems. I was thinking that maybe I should return it and get an injen intake for the sake of a better sound and improved throttle response. Anyone have experiences with either intakes or their fixes? Thanks

Injen and AFE is the same shit. Slight gains at high speeds and power loss on the low end, especially on hot days. Cut out the charcoal filter from your stock intake and then thrown in a K&N filter or go with the Euroairbox and call it a day. Otherwise don't waste your money.

The new sealed box aFe isn't like that at all. I don't think many people realize they make more than one type of intake.

Yes I seen the new box and you have to be a real sucker to buy into their 12hp claim. If you have to buy an intake then go with the Eurointake box.

Never said I bought into the HP claim, but seeing as it is a sealed box I don't think it's going to be any worse than the euro box and they are close to the same price. And I'm sure it sounds a little better, too.

Not really; eurobox is about $400 and also uses a cone intake. With a covered case you can't expect much soud wise.

ECS usually has them in stock. Try order them from Europe, so they're not always available. I ordered mine from them, and I like it. Compared to the US airbox, the Euro box makes accessing the filter a lot easier, not to mention it uses a cone filter vs the flat panel filter.

Sorry, just noticed you have a 323i. Thats the 2.5L motor, right?
