Newbie Question

HI guys, I'm brand new to the thread and I've been reading a lot to try to get myself up to speed. I will be buying an E90 soon. There are two E90s I'll see this weekend that look to be in good condition from the photos and the information listed going for $12-13k but have almost exactly 100K miles on them, or I can buy an e90 for $18-20k with about 40-50k miles on it. I've been reading some of the past threads about longevity issues and being outside of a warranty scares me to death. My last experience with BMW was a 645 CI that had SMG problems and even though I purchased an extended warranty for the car, they claimed the SMG problems were electric and wouldn't pay for the service. Cost me 8k out of pocket and was a nightmare. Looking to buy as early as this weekend, any and all input is appreciated.

Without any details on options of each it is hard to give a definitive answer other than the one with less miles is definitely the front runner here..for a better response you need to post all the info.

whelp I'm at a dealership finalizing a deal out the door on a 2007 335xi for $10.5k tax title doc fees everything. Car has 104xxx miles. Taking a risk but hoping for the best. I'll use the saved money to buy a extended warranty.

Get another 15k and get something with way less miles. Plus 07 335s tend to have the most issues.

Hey guys I just graduated HS and got a bunch of cash from my family, plus putting in extra hours at the BK lounge this summer; so I figure I'll treat myself to one of those fancy "beemers". I got like 8k to spend and will be probably living pay check to pay check but fuck it I say go big or go home (or stay home because the water pump failed).

I was looking at a few models and figured that the 335 is the car for me. I figure that the 328/330 is just not man enough for a player like me.
Here are the cars I was looking at:
(Post links of random very high mileage 07 335s with no warranty of any kind; sold as is, and they were tuned.. Cars looking so worn down that a suicide bomber would pass on buying because of possible "reliability" issues during his trip to "paradise".)

We all reply telling him the problems he is in for, repair costs, and maintenance costs. The we tell him he should save more cash and get a BMW with way less miles or go with another brand.

Like 20 posts later.... We get a reply like;
Hey guys I know you all said no but I could not resist it and pulled the trigger. You should see more rolling by, all the kids be like "Daaaammmmnnn". LOVING the 335!!! BAAAAALLLLLLIIIINNNNN!!!

WAIT FOR IT... WAIT FOR IT..
Few hours or days go by..
And we finally get the reply..
Man this car is a hunk of junk. The HPFP failed, gaskets are leaking, turbo is failing, and water pump is about to go. And on the way to the shop the window regulator failed too and it was raining. I'm going to need to sell this POS or prostitute my gf for some repair money.. God BMWs are so unreliable.
