JGMODS - Rep M3 style E90 hood
Over the past year, Jay has helped me transform my car in numerous ways - from wheels to exhaust to full body kit, you name it. I'm dwindling down to what I can reasonably do with it, and the hood was one of those final things.
As mentioned before, Jay knows I'm a stickler for fitment. Most of my purchases are OEM when I can help it. I recently bought CF mirror caps for my M3 mirrors, but instead of OEM, I went with Jay because I knew I could trust the quality of the parts he sells. Sure enough, it was spot on. I went with the M3 style hood from Carbon8. This is the dome style with two small vents, not the huge vents at the front of the hood. While carbon fiber looks good in some places, a full hood is too much. I had him paint the entire hood except for the vents. The vent trim remained carbon fiber, while the grille mesh was painted matte black. As always, the paint was perfect, I had no concern there. The biggest issue with rep hoods is fitment. Luckily the painter is also a genius at fitting body parts. With a little tweaking here and there, he was able to get it almost OEM like. The only thing that isn't 100% are the slots for the OEM "mustaches" (the upper part of the front grilles on sedans). Unfortunately, the edges poke out a little, but there is nothing we could have done. This is just an FYI for whoever is thinking about buying it. Overall I am very happy with the result. So to make a long story short, JGMODS proves yet again why they are my goto mod company. I can't imagine I'd be where I'm at today without their support.

I mean they aren't that small...and the mesh is pretty open, it's not tightly wound.
