Camber plates for E90/92
Hi guys. Since this is mainly occupied by track people, I figured I'd post in here. I have a set of GC Race plates (camber/caster adjustable) for the E90 for sale. They have been used with JRZ shocks and 2.25" ID springs. They don't need a rebuild or anything and are fully functional, nothing broken or damaged, etc. All screws included. I've heard a noise from them a handful of times in the 8-10k miles I've used them. Here are some pictures. I have posted in the for sale section as well. Asking $250 obo + free shipping to US.
Thanks for looking |

Probably because $4k suspension is overkill for a daily commuter that sees limited track time. If the NVH doesn't get to you, then the expensive rebuilds or prematurely worn tires might lol.

Don't get me wrong, Ohlinz, JRZ, etc truly represent the best money can buy but I gotta wonder how Chris really feels putting x miles on that setup every day, knowing every incremental mile not driven on track is another mile closer to rebuilding shocks or replacing tires.
I had BMW PS / Dinan / M3 suspension bits on my 135is and I felt that was pushing the limits of a dual duty in terms of practicality and comfort. Maybe I just have a lower threshold level of "comfortable." |

Ride quality of my TCK DA is pretty good when dialed down for streets (that is with solid camber plates and stiffer bushings all around), actually quite a bit better than the BMW PS kit I used to have. The only problem is the occasional ground clearance issue. Tires take a hit when running aggressive camber on the streets though, but I started running slow wearing all season tires for streets now, so it isn't as bad as it was before.

OP's plates are top notch but probably better suited for a more track focused car, or to your point, be prepared for tires wearing down every 10k. Happy to take this offline to not derail the thread. Chris let me know if you want me to remove my comments. |

But you are right, even "high end" twin tubes are no match for high quality monotubes, despite the vendors here want you to think they are. Rebuild frequency all comes to subjected use, original quality, and a bit of luck. But most quality monotubes should last 25k miles at the very least for dual use applications like ours. Don't think OP can complain about thread jacking, after all he posted a FS thread outside the classified section

Wow, stupid E90 didn't send me any notifications of this thread.
I had the race plates switched out with the street plates a few months ago to see if it would solve my noise issue and it hasn't. This issue MUST be internal to the JRZs and is a defect because it has been there since the shocks were BRAND NEW. For that reason I was thinking of going back to stock, but I just feel like that is a complete waste of time/money considering the cost of the setup and the fact that I'd be back at square 1 with modifications so I decided against it (been going back and forth on this until now). The JRZs are holding up just fine and so I do not feel bad about driving them on the street 80 miles everyday because the performance remains. I'd have to have a new set swapped in to really be able to see how much performance they lost because it feels that minimal. They have at least 10-11k miles on them at this point and they still ride nice and control my springs without any issues even on the lowest rebound settings (1/22 clicks). The roads I drive on are decent, but not the best. I hit a pot holes and they go on like it never happened. After this many miles I'm just stunned at the durability of the dampers, truly stunned. I think these have at least another 10k miles to go before I even think about a rebuild. In regards to the wear with camber plates I get an alignment around fall/winter before I put the winter wheels on to bring it down around -2 and I don't have any wear issues. To this day the handling of the car and how it follows the surface of the road puts a smile on my face so that's what matters and that's how I see it. Edit: Checked the odometer reading from my receipt when I had them put on. JRZs are at 18,000 miles at this point Quote:

No, they are a twin tube. These are the revision of the JRZ RS which was a high gas pressure twin tube. The RS1 and RS Pro (ext reservoir) are monotube.
