Car care for the lazy?

What would be the easiest fastest way to protect the exterior? I was thinking Klasse AIO with a Zaino polish. Can you polish and buff with a PC? I do take care of my cars but hate the work . I need something i can do in an hour or so. TIA

You definitely sound like an AIO person. Zaino has a new All-in-Product that's just been released as well. It can be used alone or in conjunction with other Zaino products.

1 hour? That's easy.

Wash
Dry
Werkstatt Acrylic Jett Trigger *or* the new Zaino CS

Hell, you'll even have time to clay.

If it's new paint with no sigificant marring to correct I'd say 2-3 hours including a wash and buff out with AIO (either Klasse of Z) using a PC. Then finish with Z polish of choice with a PC and finish pad.

Although I don't disagree with picus if it's just wash, dry and LSP.

It will take you longer than an hour if you really want to "polish" and seal. Polish meaning remove/hide swirls. If you don't have much in the way of swirls you could wash then use Klasse AIO to clean/seal and then put a sealant or wax over that. If you get something like Fourstar UPP, Meguiar's #21 then you shouldn't have to wax for a few months.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I've been using Zaino products since 2000 and I am very happy with them. Good to hear of other options. One thing thats peeked my interest in getting things done quicker is the PC. Its good to know you can use the PC to polish AND seal. Do you have to prep the car before starting? For example areas such as windows and trim? Or do you PC all areas? Thanks again. This is a great resource.

Wash
Dry
P21S

I can do it in 1+15. If it were not for the brake dust, closer to an hour. P21S is fast. No need to dry. I wipe it off and go over the whole car with a microfiber cloth at the end. Very nice.

unfortunately P21s doesn't last long enough.

The OP should use Zaino or Klasse or FK1's #218 to name a few that not only last longer but very easy to apply.

Another one is Optimum's Poli Seal. Can't get any easier and get 3 to 4 months of protection.

Acrylic Jett and Acrylic Jett Trigger are sealants. The Trigger version is a spray, so yes either will take the place of a wax; just like Zaino. I like AJT because it looks good, is easy to use, and has good durability for a spray sealant (~4 months).

FWIW, Werkstatt products are re-formulations of Klasse products (which you'be probably heard of). They are just easier to use.

No; sealants won't bond to waxes. You use sealants in the place of waxes, or in rare cases you can use a wax over a sealant, but not vice versa.

I think the durability of P21S is not bad when layered. If I do it a couple of weeks in a row it seems to last well. And I don't mind doing that when it's so fast and leaves no mark on the few pieces of black trim we have. That said, I have seen Zaino and Klasse talked about a lot here and and when my P21S runs out maybe I'll give one a try.

I'll second the vote for Optimum Poli-seal if you're using a PC. I just picked up some of the OPS a couple months ago and used it on a few cars and it's cake to use and leaves a nice finish. With the PC I can sling it on a mid size car in 5-10 minutes and it doesn't take long to wipe off. If you work it in a little it almost buffs off in the polishing phaze. It's supposed to do minor correction and clean the paint as well as leave a sealant. I'm not certain about 3-4 months protection since I usually top with a wax like S100 but it's definitely easy to use and leaves a nice finish.

A little off topic, but when you use the PC, is Z2 or Z5 more effective at removing swirls? And are they both sealants?

I only ask because my dad got me a Zaino kit for XMAS that came with both, so I used both--but I just put them on by hand.

Thanks guys.

z2 & z5 are sealants. They don't do anything except protect paint.

their zpc is a gentle polish light swirl remover, but with bmw paint most colors need a rotary - the porter cable polisher will not cut it. it however will improve the look.

the PC and OP gave me good results on my Jet black car. There are some heavy scratches still there from the dealer but a couple passes with OP on a blue pad and the micromarring is all but gone.

I see--I had thought I had seen somewhere on a thread that one of those two would help with light swirls when used with a PC....

So if they are both sealants, why does Zaino send both in one of their kits? Seems a little dumb to me....
