It's looking like people are trying to make sure they are parking away from the trees cause of the wind.

Same here. Luckly, the train station I take to work has a parking lot with multiple levels which is within walking distance from my home. Since the trains are going to shut down prior to the storm arriving, the parking lot is making available their parking facilities to anyone who wants to park their vehicles without the need for permit. Our area is a flood zone, so I am making using of their facilities to protect my car. My previous car was totaled because my parking lot became flooded one evening in the middle of the night early last year (just days after I made my last payment on it). It became a total loss. The car is parked safe now - it should be protected from tree, wind, and flood damage. Not taking any chances with the hurricane, if it could be avoided.

Just moved all the vehicles today. Will drive Jeep tomorrow, Bimmer and roommate's truck are in driveway about 3' away from a boxwood hedge hopefully that will stop anything coming from that side. If something comes from the other side, well, c'est la vie. Roommate is out of town so he's on his own for protecting his car

Luckily I have a garage at the house. However, I filled up on gas before I came home since gas prices are supposed to go up because they have to shut down some oil refineries on the East coast due to the storm. Stay safe everybody!

Hope everyone is safe during this storm. Unfortunately I do not have a garage.
Due to people panicking and going absolutely wild I worked like crazy at work ALL weekend. We sold a 20 pallets of water in just several hours. I on the other hand just decided to buy some self some beer instead...heck who needs water. lol |

I have it quietly sitting in a garage with stone walls. Just as long as the frame roof doesn't have a sudden meeting with a tree, I should be good to go.
3/4 of the gas stations around me have all their pumps closed since they ran out of gas. Hope everyone filled up in time. Kind of a bummer for the people that aren't freaking out but just happened to be low on gas. |
