Now Alpine white page 9

Hello fellow members I thought I put up some pics of my new 330 I'm no stranger to BMW I've lost count of how many I've had, but never and a E92,
My last car was an E46 320Cd that I'd done qute a lot of work to to get it how I wanted, but now it's time to move on, here are some pics of when I went for it,

One with my old 320cd

Only mod so far is F&R 20mm hubsentric spacers they are bit much but working on them

Close ups of the spacers

It looked nice with the 20mm spacers but with anyone in the back it rubbed even at the standard sport ride height, so I knew it was going to be more work,
After a lot of measuring and not wanting to go for budget coilovers I opted for H&R springs ,
The drop I decided on was 60/40
Arrived in less than 24h so got on with fitting them As soon as they arrived
Not much difference in the rear

Big difference in the fronts

Put it back together without the spacers and let it settle for a couple of days, then measured the gap in the Arch
Dropped the spacers off with my mate who took 3mm off the rears and 4mm off the fronts

So it's now dropped 60/40 running
ET 18 front with 225 35 19
ET 19 rear with 255 30 19

One thing that let's the car down is steering wheel trim is pealing , so I decided to tackle it only thing I forgot to take a pic before starting,
Stripped all the rubber off and gave it a couple of coats of plastic primer then 3 coats of Satin looks and feels a lot better, also decided to do the grills as well, here are the pics

Grills
I just wet and dried the chrome fins then did the surrounds

Finished

Need to sort out the plates next

Love it. Looks really nice. An M3 lip spoiler would finish it off nicely?

Thanks yea it's on standard sports shockers, the ride is more or less the same as standard, it has less roll when pushed and a tad firmer

Thanks think you'd quite easily get away with 15mm all round without catching

Good choice on springs, I went for them aswell and love the stance!

You're work on the steering wheel trim has inspired me to sort out my rear centre console that got scratched whilst carting a tv stand around as the bastard thing didn't fit in the boot

Just a quick question, do you have to take the centre of the steering wheel out to get the steering wheel trim off? Mine has started to peel and it's annoying me a lot.

Car looks great too, wish I'd held out for a 330 and coupe instead of rushing for the first well spec'd E90

Hi Sam yea you have to undo the airbag, it's easy to to there are two holes begins the wheel and you go in with a screw driver at 45 degree and it's spring released, I didn't undo the wiring as you can easily work round it,
There is a few videos on YouTube how to remove it if you get stuck but it really is easy and worth doing mine bugged the hell out of me.

Car looks great

I managed to take the trim off without removing the airbag. It was not hard either so you should be able to free it without if you're worried about playing with the airbag.

Thanks, I may have a look how much a new trim is and just replace it if it isn't too expensive.
