Did your lease payment go up April 1st?

I'm leasing my car and have a 36 month contract, when the sales tax went up from 8.25% to 9.25% my lease payment went up a bit because of it.
Not much obviously, but it did go up.

I thought having a lease contract that has the payment and sales taxed included in it, it's exactly that, a CONTRACT.

Is it legal for BMW to change that contract and increase the payment regardless if state sales tax was increased?
And does it say anywhere in the contract that they CAN do that, I can't find it.

Thanks

Funny how quickly THEY can break a CONTRACT.
But if we wanted to break our contract, we get shafted.

Just like the government or IRS. If you owe them money or are late or make a mistake, it's "you screwed up now pay up, oh and here's a fine for your mistake too."
If they screw up or make a mistake, "it's we apologize for the mistake." We don't get to say, "oh but your fine will be $500 for it."

f%$ckers. If the purchase of our cars took place before this, theres no way we should be paying for the increase. You shouldnt be able to backdate taxes on transactions like that. Werent a bunch of car dealers using this as a marketing scheme to attract business before the tax hike? So what, it turns out everyone has to pay anyways?

well as i understand it, the taxes are a use tax...so i figure we'll be charged the tax each month we "use" the car. if state taxes went up, so did our payment.
I had it go both ways....
I moved from Pasadena to ontario, the tax went from 8.25% to 7.75% and my lease payment went down. then the taxes went up to 8.75% in ontario and now my payment's even higher than it was in pasadena
