I used it and didn't have great results hiding the big chips.

Hard to answer that. They're pretty good sized chips on the front of my hood.

I posted a thing about my experiences on my E39 forum at the time. DRC doesn't make it like it never happened, but it makes a lot of defects go away from the "three foot view".

I have one of the shots I took of my E39s hood which has had the contrast artificially pushed to make the chips stand out. Left side = after, right side = before.

I think every car guy should have a DRC kit. It won't fix everything but used properly it does a nice job. I would rather keep slightly marred but all original paint on the front of my car instead of paint it yearly like some people seem to. 3M film works well too.

Nice job. Definitely an improvement. Thanks.

How is the paint match of Dr, Colorchip compared to OEM touch-up paint?
I've found the OEM touch-up to be too dark on two different metallic colored cars that I've tried (space gray and arctic metallic). Thoughts?

OEM gets dark, reason because brush inside has been soaked in paint for long time, so before you apply oem touch paint with brush, make sure, clean/Rinse the brush in water, shake bottle for atleast 2 minutes literally; after that oem touchpaint wont look darker

Hmmmm, you might be onto something, thanks. Might just skip the fat brush altogether and try a toothpick.

I've ordered DRC for 4 cars, I believe, and it's been bang on. It certainly looks better than a chip. As I mentioned in my post, it's not going to make it look like factory-fresh paint if you stick your nose up to it and inspect but someone walking by your car isn't going to see any chips or issues.
