CIC retrofit 335I E92-2007

Hi guys,
I'm French and I'm going to do an upgrade from my CCC my BMW 335i E92, I found this forum by chance and I am in contact with Vlad and Chen BMW retrofit, there are Canada. The contact by e- mail has been good and he gave me all the technical information I needed, they are responsive and professional.
I ordered the kit home retrofit CIC and today it arrived in perfect condition, complete, no scratches or damage and especially well-packaged as I live in France you'll understand.
I took some pictures of the different components before installation, the wiring is relatively simple (plug & play), just need to pay attention to the power of the 8.8''screen HD, although reconnected the terminals 1 / 3 / 5 / 6 in the same connector pins on the new blue, otherwise the rest is disassembling will also order a cover for BMW iDrive Controller and well on the center console insert.
I'd do the other pictures during the installation as soon as I have time.

Hey Yves,

You project looks nice so far! Keep us posted please
When do you plan to install your CIC head unit ?
Let us know via email in case if you may have any questions about the installation.

I will not be available during next four days but Alex and Vlad should be up for help during all this time.

P.S. On the second from the bottom picture in the previous post - what is that attached in the kind of a case at the right side of the transmission tunnel, is it a kind of the flashlight ?

Thanks' Chen, the install from the CIC head unit was probably this week end, because I wait parts from the central consol.
When everything is connected, at the start, have til do something in particular?
For what you believe to be a flashlight is actually an umbrella BMW!

I finally plugged my CIC, the controller and the shortcuts work fine, the screen is beautiful, cons by the position of the car is not good, the shape of the car is not good either (I has an E92), the iPod is not recognized, and the worst is that the menu of language I'm not French, I said the CIC has not yet been coded to my car, if someone one can give me information because I am not very reassuring!

Your CIC is not coded for your VIN, obviously.

Yves, as I wrote to you in my email earlier today, the coding will fix all your issues.
My email also includes coding session time propositions for upcomming week.
We will work it out for you
The first important part - hardware installation - has been done at your end. Now it is our turn...

I'd lost interest in the CIC retrofit thing a few months back, but I'm half-assed considering it again. Did you guys manage to write the VIN to the CIC, or is it still via a daughterboard? I'm just curious as I was able to write a new VIN in a friend's CCC unit (used replacement) and it wasn't that hard with EDIABAS Toolset32.

Simple VIN (FG_NR) change in CIC will not allow you to have Nav and Voice activated. There are some other "moments" which prevent this. "Daughterboard" developped by our company does a job perfectly

This looks very great. The wood looks awesome and fits the car perfectly.
I thought my wood would already look great but yours beats that.

Questions:

-did u had any issue with activating the sound?
-what did u actuely had to activate?
-and how did u activate it?
-if u had to activate somthing would is work with INPA Software, Autologic or NCS?

u maybe wonna know why am asking so many question about activation,

Because i have a bmw e90 320D from 2006 i did not had any navigation before,
so i installed CCC navigation Pro a year ago into my car and changed evry thing like dash, console, wirring harnes, but thats was not realy a big job , the bigger issue was actuely to activate the sound because where i live i have no pro dealers in da hood thats have many knowledge about software stuff,

but findely i found autologic dealer 250km from my house thats knews how to activate the sound, but it was not realy easy for them i had to leave my car for 2 weeks and half,

But now i was thinking to install a cic Navi pro atm,
so i just bought a hole kit on ebay for only 377euro hihi

Hi Estoril67,

Thanks for the detailed info regarding the cic retrofit. Im highly considering to do the same myself. I have noticed your idrive controller is fitted upside down. The button text is facing backwards so as a passanger or driver they are upside down. The original idrive connector for ccc system is the proper way around. Ia that how it must be fitted to the centre console? Also, I have noticed on the bimmertech website that a black centre console is only available yet bases on the photos you seem to have the bamboo wood finish matching the stock parts in your car. Is this something you had to request specially?

Thanks
