Have never dyno the vehicle without the filter, but did dyno it without the airbox lid... And the result was 9 hp. See post #63 in this tread:

Actually, there were two fans supplying plenty of air to the front of the vehicle for cooling purposes during all of our dyno runs. It could similate on the road conditions with airflow.

I totally agree. The BMC filters we used in the new M V10 motors have been nothing but top notch quality. No complaints here. If I didn't have a Gruppe-M Intake for my ///M3 already, I would have had the BMC a long time ago.

I'll keep everyone posted on when the new 335 ones arrive.

Did anyone get charged more than the total in their cart? My total was $109 and they charged me $124. I e-mailed them but no response. What gives?

Yea, that's kind of what I was thinking. We'll see if they return my e-mail. I was alittle uncertain about paying $109 for a filter thats almost exactly like a K&N that costs $69. So I was just disappointed they tacted an extra $15 on there on top of it to boot.

Just checked the BMC web site and they have some good racing history. I might have to try this filter out!

We just did a test on some E46 M3's and we've had great results, almost 20HP increase in the midrange!!

Hopefully the 335i ones work just as well if not better. They should be arriving to the shop next week sometime.

I find it funny that so many people call the BMC and K&N rip off! BMC are well known for their air filters in the motorcycle world and typically provide much better results than K&N in motorcycles... with sportbikes, K&Ns often cause people to lose power whereas BMC race filters tend to give them a couple ponies across the rev band. Do your homework before you speak!

I have never understood this either. ...and there are quite a few here on this forum. You would think that BMW owners would be the least likely consumer for replications, one-offs, and less-than-premium products...

Very simply, if your parents bought you the car, you might not be able to afford the more expensive products. There is an amazingly huge number of forum members that neither bought nor leased their BMWs.

...I guess you're right. No vested interest = no concern.

When I was 16 there was only like one or two kids in the whole school who were lucky enough to have a new car like a BMW...

Exactly thanks for pointing that out I was too lazy to explain to kids on allowance why I don't buy a K&N if that works for you then great. For Me BMC all the way.K&N is a joke in comparison as far as build quality goes.
