Jack pad & exterior black trim fading question (pics)

looks like both of my front "jack pads" are gone, so my question is, it seems pretty solid in the "rectangle space" there, would it be fine to jack it up at that point? i found this part #51718268885 for replacement, can anyone verify?

also on the last 3 photos, you can clearly see the black fading off needing some info on what paint or prepping is needed? sand/tape/cover the car... what type of paint? is this piece easily replaced? part number?

any info is appreciated, thx in advance

The part number you posted is not the correct part for a E90 325i. The part number you posted is for an E46

The correct number for the E90 is:

51717237195

Not sure about the trim. It can be removed and painted or replaced.

Vinyl wrap that trim in matte black. Done well should look better than new.

If you drive in a salt state those jack holes will cause rust down the road. I'd at least silicone a rubber pad over them.

The lifting pad snaps in place where the holes are so you could jack it up there. However the proper way to lift the chassis is jacking it up from the front-center and rear-center jack points and set the car down on jackstands underneath the lift points. i'd wait until you get the pads installed. And buy some extra while your at it so the next time one goes missing you have a replacement on hand.

Look in the DIY section for how to lift the E9X chassis. We've all posted several DIYs on the subject.

Yes, thanks i've seen those posts, i should probably life from the center lift points, but i normally just go with one side, then pull tire, do whatever work, put back down, :-) thanks for the advice on the pads, already on order

Well the only issue I see with your method is you are leaving the car on the jack while working on it, which generally is more dangerous than having the car on stands. The chassis is set up to jack the car from the center and put the stands under the lift points. It takes no more effort to lift the car properly from the center and set it on stands than to jack the car from the lifting point and not set it on a stand, so I'm not sure why anyone would choose the less-safe method.
