I don't think i'm that sensitive to ride quality between tyre sizes. Some people claim night and day differences between normal rubber and run flats. My winter 17's were a smoother ride but i still felt the lumps and bumps a lot, which i put down to the suspension.

Anyway, i test drove a few 335d's on 18's and my car has 19's. I honestly couldn't tell the difference. In fact the first car with 18's i drove i remember saying to my mrs, does this feel any different on the 18's to the 19's i drove. She couldn't tell the difference, neither could i.

The ride quality is fine The switch to non-RFT from 18" RFT means the ride quality is FAR better than it used to be.

Loving those wheels Mega. Hmmm...18's or 19's...not sure now. I think the BBS's will look better in 18's than the CSL's - I don't think the CSL's will stand out quite as well in 18's.

Interesting; I'm also looking for a set of staggered BBS's in 18's as I don't want to end up having to buy new tyres, (just a straight swap-over from my MV3's) RFT's don't really bother me. Vaheed, where have you seen them for sale?

There's loads of places on the Net at the minute. Google it bud. So, do I save a few bob and go for reps or go for the full fat version? I know there's may stories about reps not being up to scratch etc... but I've never know anyone to have problems with them.

I went from the stock 17" Msport alloy on runflats to 19" BBS CH on regular tyres and the ride was a lot less bumpy, amazingly?!?!?!?

also the wheels & tyres were considerably lighter!

Yep, I got a set for my Golf and they have been fantastic. The net really does put you off going for reps if you read too much - can't argue with the quality of mine at all and they're heading on for 3 years old now.

One serious piece of advice is to get yourself some of this; http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels...nt/prod_9.html

The only issue I would say with the alloy reps is that tar etc seems to like the surface more than other alloys, so give them a good wash and then a coat or two of that stuff. I do mine twice a year and it has made a massive difference to them, also when washing the car the dirt just falls off pretty much......which is good as these are a pita to clean with all the nooks and crannies!!

ETA

MEGA - that car is freakin sorted, really looks great in side profile. Are they Falken FK452's? That's what I went with and for the price I can't believe the step up in grip and wet weather performance - great tyres.

Cheers buddy! I much appreciate it

Yes 452's all round. Best "compromise" tyre I've found. For the price the grip they offer in the dry is outstanding.
