2008 325i variable revving on cold starts
Hi all.
I am wondering if any of you have experienced a similar issue. When I start up when the car hasn't run for 8+ hours (ie first thing in the morning) about half the time the car revs between 800 rpm - 1200 rpm (or somewhere in that range), when it is in idle. Once it is warm (after 1 to 2 minutes), there is no issue with it. It creates an issue when I reverse, as it makes the car surge with the increasing and decreasing of the revs. The car is 2.5 years old and it has been present from very early on. 3 trips back to the dealer under warranty have failed to diagnose the issue. (Primarily they have tried software upgrades or reboots but this has not fixed the issue). Has anyone else experienced similar issues? I am keen to get it fixed before the warranty period expires! |

Only once in a while I've experienced something similar on my 08 328i. It hasn't happened for a long while now. I think it's normal. At first, I thought it was caused by the PBX.

I've got an 06 330i and experience the same thing. Although my jeep wrangler also did it so I thought it was normal, like part of the warmup procedure or something.
