Bringing In My Car For Battery Cable Recall "UPDATE"

So tomorrow i am bringing my car in for the battery cable recall, got the letter in the mail lastweek. I have a cobb access port map1 installed. My car has 68,000 miles on it and runs fine, but i do not have a CPO warranty but i do have a full bumper to bumper aftermarket warranty. will probably just have them chk over my car and was guessing i should uninstall the Cobb. What do you guys think?

Recall all done with out any problems

For the 20 minutes it takes to remove the tune and flash back to stock, you eliminate all headaches....I agree, better safe than ooopsies.

We would have to do a short test for faults, and I know when they did mine and my JB4 was on, they weren't able to connect to the JBE/DME

It does set a fault when you disconnect the wire from the box...

There is no programming on this recall...
remove the fuse box, replace wire , reinstall. check/delete codes
ship to wash

Mine was done with JB4 on Map 0 and FBO, no issues with doing the recall work or my CPO. No coding/programming done and nothing of my custom coding was impacted.

i dropped it to get the cable replaced! but they ruined my glove box lock :/ it doesn't close as it used to... You have to push it harder; I don't know if i should take it back or not.

Took my car to BMW service of port Chester with Cobb tune installed. They didn't check nor said anything about it.

You don't need to wait for a letter. I called BMW of Manhattan and read them my VIN, they were able to confirm that my car was affected by recall.
