LSD
OK I realise there are a heap of threads already on this, but I'm keen to know what Ozzy owners have done this mod!
What brand of diff did you go with and who did you get to install it (i would love to DIY, but alas this is a specialists job really & impossible without a hoist pretty much) Luckily my diff appears to be a bolt in type so it shall be a tad cheaper, has anyone with a 6MT changed their ratio to the slushbox ratio to gain more down low power? |

How old is your 335i? Pretty rare to have one with 6MT and bolted diff.
No way is it a DIY. Most have gone with the Quaife/Wavetrac. There are also Drexlers but they are pretty damn pricey. |

Got my Quaife from Andrew at SouthernBM.
Give him your VIN and he will be able to tell you if your a bolted or welded. I've done 15000 km on mine and can't complain. |

I will admit I have had the inner rear tyre by memory spinning on a few hard 2nd gear corners, I put this down to being too greedy with the throttle and RFT's but the more I research the open diff seems to be the culprit (I'm amazed that a $130k car when new with a torquey tt engine that orientated as sports/spirited drivers car doesn't have a LSD!) |

You'll notice it straight away.
Going through roundabouts etc the traction is there. Not to mention, great for the track where you'll find the most benefit |

I've had the quaiffe in my 335i for about 20,000k now and I love every minute of it. Off the line and exiting corners is the biggest difference, although it is amusing at times to step the back out at 70kph, especially when its moist

I've found that my coilovers are make a huge difference with the weight distribution, and will take corners with much higher entry speeds. Loving them so far and they are on the softest setting!

The only downside I see with the dct is the only LSD I can get is the Quaife , oh that's not the bad bit the bad bit is the diff alone is circa 5k and the wife will never agree to that one. I wonder if Nashin have a cheaper option?

I have heard that the H&R sways really transform the car, and on my last RWD car swaybars was the best BFYB mod I had done! |

I went with BC racing BR series, decided against the KW due to a few factors:
In terms of sways, I was considering the M3 sway bars as an option - but wanted to feel the benefits that the C/O's delivered first. |

Cooler = Increased cooling benefits, gains with this will be more apparent and beneficial on track where operating temps are higher. Where as on street, not so much. |

I've got a Quaife in mine
Pros of the LSD - great for drifting - more predictable handling Cons - harder to get off the line (especially at the drags) - see above - expensive I was a bit disappointed after getting mine.. I was expecting twice the traction but all my quarter mile times have suffered due to my inexperience in using the LSD to achieve a good launch. Considering the e-LSD does a surprisingly good job of most things, I'll probably be saving my coin next time for something else. If you can get a second hand pumpkin swap, do it, you'll save a motza. |

Looks like you need the 30.309.173WK plus an install kit since your ring gear will be welded in.
http://www.wavetrac.net/application.htm Great info here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=657738 And they explain how you can have your welded ring gear modified to suit the bolted wavetrac: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=648271 |

Would anyone here pay ~$500 for this component (those of you who have lsd's?)
http://store.vacmotorsports.com/vac-...e93-p2493.aspx If there is enough interest and I go ahead with the lsd I might get one of these, use it as a template to program a cnc mill and machine a small batch. |
