Can someone help me with a photoshop please? Could someone please edit this pic, and leave the matte black part of the trunk as is, but color the rest of the car red. Thanks so much!

Car is too shiny to begin with. Let me know if you want it darker/ lighter.. still going to be shiny though.

My stab at it. I can make it a brighter red, but you have to take into account the fact that the photo was taken in a shadow region.

I was literally in the middle of writing "Wheres E90Company when you need him?!" before you posted

I've been lurking the forums lately. Thanks! But as you know it's difficult to change colors starting from a base black so it'll never be spot on.

What I did was made an entire layer a deep red, set blend mode to "lighten", and masked it out using a combo of pen and layer mask brushing. Then you play with the brush opacities to make the color look more natural. Just for future reference this method seems to work well on dark cars.
